Is it possible that we can come so close to victory and lose it for so little? What could cause us to lose our salvation? Can “little things” stand in the way?
Are there things that can stop a Christian from going astray and not reaching the eternal life promised to the faithful? What did Jesus say about perdition? Are many saved?
Jesus said: “Strive to enter through the narrow door, for many will seek but will not find. He also said that “whoever wants to be his disciple must deny himself”. “Whoever does not hate his mother, sisters, sons and daughters for his sake, and even his own life, cannot inherit the kingdom of God.” From this we infer that salvation is a difficult goal to achieve. And basically because it's difficult to give up everything as he commanded. But what would that be?
Well, as he said, the world is in the evil one. So you have to pay attention to the world's behavior. And we need to make a clarification here. That the world is not the globe, but some humans, namely the wicked and sinners. And the ungodly are those who know God's law but don't keep it, while sinners are the Gentiles, who have never known God, that is, they don't know his Word, which corresponds to his Law.
But many of those who have been called to follow Jesus and who claim to believe in Him, still have hardened hearts and do not reject the old worldly practices that they used to do before being called to follow the Master Jesus.
